Still Here, Working Hard
Hi Guys,
Apologies for the lack of update over the last week but as I said, things were going to get a bit crazy. While I’m at the barn I have no internet access and a very dodgy mobile signal.
I’ll give you more detail when things settle down a bit, but here’s whats gone down while I’ve been offline.
We’ve moved out of our rental house and now everything I own in the world is sitting in a barn alongside the boat. It actually feels great to have offloaded so much stuff and to have removed a big expensive layer of responsibility.
I spent my first night aboard ‘Gleda’ last night. I confess it was not what I had imagined when I first started building but hey, need must. I slept very comfortably in the port forward single cabin, I was plenty warm and somewhat lulled by the sound of rain splashing down on the barn floor from the leaky gutters.
Considering that the whole boat is a worksite right now I was pleasantly surprised how well everything worked and how comfy I was, and things can only improve as the weeks go on.
I’ve just about finished the starboard main cabin and completed a host of smaller jobs. I’m back inside bricks and mortar tonight but the next 48 hours will be spent onboard getting ready to move the hulls out of the barn at the weekend.
I’ll do my best to post a load of photos and details then.
Anyway much needed sleep beckons now but I wanted you to know that all is well and moving along on schedule…. laters.
I am so absolutely jealous of you! You are on the verge on making a dream come true. It’s right around the next corner–how very happy you must be right now. Keep pushing mate, you’re almost there.
Thanks for taking the time for an update. Good luck we are all cheering for you !
My God I’m jealous
