Still a bit run down with this cold but went up tonight and thanks to some reasonable daytime temperatures found the epoxy cured off enough to sand. Spent an hour and a half sanding and am now ready to start coating. The bargain £20 belt sander I bought last week is fantastic, I’ve never used one before and I was mighty impressed how easily it knocks off high spots. It would be very easy to get over enthusiastic with it! Anyway I will now have to wait for the right conditions to apply the first epoxy coat. The forecast is not good, we have a severe weather warning for gale force winds on Thursday with falling temperatures. I need it to be calm and not too cold so that’s not much good. If the epoxy is no go I will probably start cutting the keel and skeg doublers and scarf up the hullside flange for the other side of the keel.
