No time spent at the barn today as I needed to spend time at my desk. Being without my Landy has necessitated the rearrangement of a number of meetings I had scheduled which in turn has changed the priorities on projects so basically my planned week has gone tits up. I have one meeting in the morning (the client is picking me up) and then when I get back I’m going to the barn come hell or high water. I’m not letting excuses get in the way of build time this year come what may. I did take some time out today to think about the Gleda Project as a whole and to try an analyse why I’ve found it so hard to keep on track both with the build and with creating my business. I’m using a technique I discovered last year called ‘Freewriting’. Basically you set a timer and just dump your thoughts onto paper or keyboard without stopping or editing and I do mean without stopping or editing, no grammar or spelling correction as you go and if you come to a point where your thoughts stop momentarily and you can’t think what to write you keep scrawling or typing even if it’s complete gobbledegook. The idea is that by doing this your brain is sent a clear message that you’re serious about this writing and it had better start working!
