Saw this film last night and was very impressed. I said before this was about the OSTAR but of course it is actually about the first single handed non-stop round the world race in 1968 that was won by Robin Knox Johnston. In particular the story of Donald Crowhurst and his self designed trimaran Teignmouth Electron. A man under huge financial pressure competing in one of the world’s toughest challenges. Interviews with family and other competitors including Knox Johnston and of course Bernard Motissier, the guy who pulled out of the race carried on sailing. Moving and thought provoking I thoroughly recommend it. See a review here and an interview with the director here. One of the most moving images comes right at the end of the film. Teignmouth Electron abandoned on Cayman Brac, still there today, a monument to shattered dreams.
