Can You Tell What It Is Yet?
It appears that Gleda is beginning to take some shape! After fitting the temporary legs to the bulkheads I slotted them back onto the backbone and whilst looking at it sitting on the trestles thought ‘ I should be able to tip it off using the legs as support and over into position’ It worked perfectly! No ropes from the ceiling, no extra manpower, just me! I was so pleased I cracked on and did the other hull as well. I am really happy to have reached this landmark today as it is my 50th Birthday tomorrow and I can now celebrate safe in the knowledge that my dream of sailing my own Wharram is getting closer!
Incidently, the hulls are positioned apart only slightly less than actual dimensions so you start to get an impression of the overall size and how much deck space there will be.
The best. When you see the first time a three dimension view.
Congratulations.
Looks really good, for me it was difficult to visualise the actual size of it before, but now it’s much clearer. With you stood in the middle of the picture like that looking so happy you can almost smell the salt, feel the spray, hear the waves……
Fantastic Neil! It’t looking really good and you’re doing a great job. I’m sure your progress will only get better with warmer weather ahead. It’s got to be more inspiring working on what now looks like a boat rather than flat panels of plywood on the lofting floor. I hope to get to that stage soon myself.
" If there is anything more interesting to watch than the construction of a small boat I should like to hear about it."

Well done Neil, that is quite the birthday present you have made for your self!
Hey Neil, Your progress looks great! It is super exciting to see the hulls coming along. Good on ya for flipping the hulls on your own. I just got back from ten days of sea kayaking on the Sea of Cortez, Baja Mexico. All I could think of was what a perfect place this would be to visit in a Wharram cat – add it to your list of places to go and keep at it. -Thomas
