Beautiful Writing Beautiful Boat
I did tweet about this the other day but Jacques comment prompted me to highlight it once again because it’s well worth it.
My friend Beat Rettenmund regularly blogs about his adventures sailing around the Pacific aboard ‘Aluna’ his Polynesian Crab Claw rigged Tiki 38. Launched near San Francisco in September 2008 Beat has lived aboard permanently ever since, he’s sailed ‘Aluna’ into the Pacific visiting places such as Hawaii, Fiji, The Solomon Islands, New Zealand and many of the smaller Polynesian islands.
All of this has been achieved on a boat built to an incredibly tight budget using repurposed timber and wood foraged from skips! He’s an inspiration.
His most recent post is not only well worth a read but also contains some fantastic photos of ‘Aluna’ under sail.
