A Life Changing Week
This time last week ‘Gleda’ was somewhere on the road heading South and we were in a hotel room exhausted after a long stressful day.
Today ‘Gleda’ is sitting peacefully in the boatyard, the sun has shone all day, and I’ve been working away on the lashing strakes and rub rails, chatting to folks in the yard and generally feeling pretty relaxed. We ate our evening meal down by the river watching the comings and goings and enjoying the gorgeous views. All in all a good day.
I talked about adjustment in my last blog post and I’m only now beginning to realise how much life has changed for us. The last month has been so hectic with moving out of our cottage, storing and disposing of so many possessions, getting the barn cleared, moving the boat 3 times and so on, that there’s been no time to think. It’s taken a full week for the reality of our new lives to begin to take root.
All the comments I received after my last post really helped, thank you. Today I felt a warm glow of satisfaction when I looked at ‘Gleda’ in the yard. Yes she looks like a gypsy encampment but she’s here, we’re living aboard in comfort, it’s just a matter of time now.
