880Hrs – Springclean
A super weekend away in the New Forest and at the Beaulieu Boat Jumble, the weather was kind and it was great to get some sea air during a boat trip on the Beaulieu river and on the shingle bank overlooking the West Solent entrance and over to The Needles. The Boat Jumble was quite something, hundreds of stall selling all manner of stuff, a lot of junk of course but also a lot of good gear. I had never been before so didn’t know what to expect and I suppose I was a bit disappointed that there was not a lot to help me with the current stage of my build. That said I did buy some nice pieces of teak that I know will come in useful for all kinds of things, first on the list will be the construction of a small grating for the shower floor. There is no doubt however that I will be going again next year and probably a few after that because when it comes to things like deck fittings, cordage, fenders, anchors, wheels, instruments etc there was loads to choose from. Anyway before I get to that stage I have a huge amount of work to do, When I got in the barn today though it dawned on me that the place really was in sh** state! There were piles of dead leaves everywhere and a neglected look about the place. For weeks now my work sessions have been slowed whilst I looked for things simply because I had let things become so untidy. I feel like I am getting ready to move into another stage of the build now so what better time to have a major spring clean? It;s taken me five hours and I still have the epoxy tent to do, but, I think its time well spent as it will let me work better.
