755Hrs – Cracking On
Another good session tonight. I cut out the floor for the self draining gas locker aft of the port hull and then started on the seating/bunk panel in the main saloon. This fits in the centre of the hull where the infamous ‘wharram wobble’ is at it’s worst so I spent a bit of time playing with the ratchet straps to find the right positions and tensions to pull the hullsides in fair. Once I’d done this I was able to position the panel over the tensioned straps and mark the hullsides onto it. I’m hoping that when I come to fit the panel permanently I can put the straps right around the hullsides and panel in the same positions and pull everything tightly together. I finished the evening by marking and cutting through the centre bulkhead to make the walk through from galley to saloon. This took quite a while to get right but I’m pleased wth the result.
