554.5Hrs – The Sea Is Coming!
Big news tonight is that the East coast of the UK is under threat of severe flooding as storms in the North Sea have caused a 3 metre surge that is likely to coincide with high Spring tides tomorrow morning resulting in the highest tidal rise for decades. Reports tonight indicate that water levels have not dropped at low tide which does not bode well. People are preparing as best they can and some hospitals and care homes have been evacuated. Its now just a waiting game.
The wild wet weather has also hit here tonight and with temperatures low it was not a pleasant night in the barn. On the plus side though the wind did blow the sanding dust away! A solid session saw completion of sanding on the first filler coat on the starboard hull. News from the barn could get monotonous over the next few weeks…….its just going to be sanding!
