552Hrs – First Filler Coat Applied
My epoxy order arrived unexpectedly today so tonight I was able to finish applying the last of the first filler coat to the port hull. I have winter hardener this time so it will be interesting to see how it cures. The epoxy order also contained my third 33kg keg of epoxy resin, I still have some left but the sheathing knocked a big hole in it. I should have ordered some more diagonal cut glassfibre mat but I forgot, that aside I think I have now enough timber and epoxy to get me through the winter and into spring. I hope so because the finances are a bit tight. I finished off tonight with some more sanding. Thanks to Beat for his comments on the joys of sanding, strangely I did find that I was enjoying it tonight. It is nice to see hard work producing beautiful smooth shapes and I kept imagining the hulls gliding smoothly through azure seas………..
