3881Hrs – Filleting & Filling
I really knuckled down today, the sooner I get this cabin finished the better. My sloppy epoxy work has undoubtably given me more to do at this stage but it is what it is. I’m using car body filler to make good the appearance of badly finished joints. It’s the quickest and easiest way of doing it. I’m not skimping on epoxy fillets where they’re needed though so I’m not compromising strength, it’s purely cosmetic.
Further down the road I plan to add some sort of lining to the deckhead and hullsides but until then I at least want something I’m not completely ashamed to look at.
My steady work paid off today and I made good progress. I aim to have another solid day tomorrow and all being well I should have everything finished , sanded and cleaned up ready for some paint on Saturday. Not particularly looking forward to a day in dust mask and goggles but with luck it’ll be the last time I have to do it!
