3857Hrs – Cabin Fever
A different day but the same old work. I should have known this would be a slog, it was the same in the galley. I’ve made things harder by building in far more storage than I’d anticipated but I know that now is the right time to do it. In a few weeks time I won’t have the workshop, I won’t have the materials and the boat will be full of gear. If I don’t do it now it wouldn’t get done and I’m planning to live with this stuff for quiet a while.
Today I got the nav seat finished, it hinges up against the hull side when not in use and I added a couple of hardwood fiddles to stop the cushion sliding around. I’m pleased with it. While I was testing it I wondered what wonderful scenes I’ll see through the nav station portlight. Maybe I’ll start a photo series ‘view from the nav seat’.
Gails ‘dressing table’ is pretty much finished!
Tomorrow I want to get the hanging locker door hung and finish the shelving next to the double berth. If I can do that then I’ll be on the home run.
To finish off the day I knocked up a cart to haul round the Beaulieu Boat Jumble next weekend. I’ll be finalising my shopping list this week and I hope to get all the remaining gear needed to get ‘Gleda’ sailing.
As long as you don’ post pictures OF your seat, it’s good. I am putting in as much storage space as I can. You won’t be sorry.
