355 Hrs – Hull Stringers Done
A good solid evenings work tonight. I tidied up the glued scarf joints on the long stringers and then clamped them to the hullsides, marked up the fair hull line between bulkheads and the correct angled end cuts on the stringers. I then removed them, trimmed back the hullsides where necessary, and then screwed the stringers into position. The plans say to glue these long stringers in place now but I am considering leaving them until the hulls are turned. I can’t see any problem with that and I’m reluctant to glue them in place whilst I still have the infamous hull ‘wobble’. I have now brought the starboard hull almost to the same stage as the port hull. I just need to taper the skeg and keel, round things off a bit and do a bit more epoxy fairing. I can then start working in parallel again. I’m pleased with the way they are looking though.
