3432Hrs – Teak Oil High
Another hard day today, I’d kind of hoped to repeat yesterdays achievement of finishing the job in a day, but the rubbing strake demanded more work than I’d anticipated.
Once I’d worked out which pieces of timber I was using I set too cutting to length shaping, routing ends and pre-drilling holes.
Something I hadn’t accounted for was marking and routing a clearance in places where the strake covered the eight shroud plates fitted to the outside of the hulls, not particularly difficult but it did take some time;
Once I’d made the rebates I sanded down and applied a good coat of teak oil, I’m getting quite addicted to the smell of teak oil and I feel very happy when brushing it on!
I’ve now got all the strakes ready to fit tomorrow.
