3409Hrs – A Whole Lotta Wood
I was at the barn for 8 this morning anticipating an early delivery of my timber…….. it arrived at 4pm!
I didn’t waste the day though, I spent another few hours on the mast case fettling and finishing. There’s nothing more I can do with it now until the epoxy has hardened enough to sand. I’ll see what it’s like later in the week.
After that I gave the barn and epoxy shack a mega clean up, as things stood I wouldn’t have been able to get near the hulls in a few places, and as I’ll be working on lashing and rubbing strakes soon I needed to make some space.
The timber arrived late afternoon in 7 big packages. I got them offloaded and into the barn just before the heavens opened and it then took me an hour to unwrap and stack it all safely between the hulls. The Western Red Cedar smells fantastic.
I have other work to do tomorrow but I’m going to sneak in an hour so that I can sort through all this new timber and check I have everything, as you can see in the photos there’s quite a lot of it.
