3348Hrs – Under The Weather Blip
It’s been a strange couple of days, health wise I felt distinctly under the weather and on Thursday we had a big blow come through followed by a very cold snap yesterday.
The storm caused damage across the North and East of the country, the East coast was partially inundated with the highest storm surge for 60 years and tragically two people lost their lives.
Locally we just had a few branches down and the barn is now full of sizeable dry leaf drifts.
I hunkered down to conserve energy but I didn’t forgo ‘Gleda’ completely as I spent time quantifying and requesting quotes for my final timber order (nobody has replied yet though).
The quote requests are somewhat provisional at the moment as I still haven’t made a final decision regarding what species of woods to use. I asked for help from the Wharram community on the Wharram Builders and Friends site and got some great advice. The discussion is still ongoing HERE
The weather was a lot warmer and calmer today so I was able to get quite a bit of epoxy coating done as well as gluing the reinforcing battens to the undersides of the engine box lids;
Photo below shows the undersides of the side decks coated;
