3288Hrs – Moving Forward Again
Back to work today, a cold one though, first ice of the Winter this morning.
I got my fresh epoxy supply decanted into my big keg and tucked away safe in the epoxy warmer then warmed myself up by lifting the recently finished side-decks into place.
I’m pleased I made the effort to build these extra lockers, I know I’m going to be grateful for them once I get on the water.
Next up was to start work on the port engine well and box. Because of the low temperatures I moved the engine well into the epoxy shack and got the outside glassed. I used biaxial tape down all the joints and gave the remaining exposed ply a good coat of epoxy. I’ll flip it over tomorrow and fill/coat the inside.
The engine wells are easy to finish, not so the engine boxes. I’m glad I dry assembled them to get a decent idea of how they go together but now I’ve taken the port one apart I have to re-assemble it carefully, epoxying and filleting as I go. I made a start on that today.
I probably shouldn’t set targets but I’d really like to get these boxes and wells finished and painted by Christmas.
