280 Hrs – Filling & Fairing
A solid day put in today despite the continued lousy weather, it was still raining and the temperature was just 5’C (41’F) this morning and the epoxy I had put on last night hadn’t cured. I spent a good few hours today sanding back filled holes, rounding things off and keying ready for the next lot of fairing. I am using the glasscell additive for the first time and, mixed with some silicell it creates a great low density fairing compound that I can apply thickly without fear of slumping. I was able to put in a thick fairing between keel and hullsides and shape it with a plastic spatula no problem. I have also put some peelply over it just to be sure though.
