2577Hrs- Snow Boat
Well as predicted the weather turned silly today. Temperature -2’C (28’F) ambient, wind N.E. 4/7, windchill making it feel like -9’C (16F), occasional snow showers..
I can honestly say that in my 6 years in the barn I’ve never felt it so cold. The wind direction meant that the dry snow was being blown right through the barn from one end to the other. Remember a few weeks ago when I had the beams outside with snow on them for what I swore would be the last time? Well I was wrong, I even had snow on top of the cabin roofs!
It was impossible to work outside so I carried on in the galley filleting, glassing and filling. Even in the cabin I could feel the wind rocking the hull in it’s cradles and the din from the polythene roof tent was incredible, if it’s still there in the morning I’ll be surprised. I got a fair bit done in the four hours I was there but by lunchtime I’d had enough and called it quits.
Oh and my water tank order has been delayed and is now arriving tomorrow.
WOW! I’ll never complain about my cold garage build site again, at least it’s not open to the weather:) Glad to see you plow through these obstacles and keeping on course!!!!
Take care
Edward
