2116Hrs – Port Hull First Filled
Well I ground away for another 5 hours today and managed to get the port hull first fill completed. I’ve been occupying my mind whilst doing it with thoughts of paint colours and how good the hulls will look when I get to slap some paint on them. (As well as thoughts of G&T’s and dusky maidens…. thanks Jon!)
I’d been kicking round the idea of light blue somewhat similar to ‘Pilgrim’ which looks really nice but I recently saw a photo of a large motor yacht with a light primrose yellow hull and white topsides which looked very classy. I’ll mull this over for a few days but I’d like to make a decision and get the paint ordered early next week so I shan’t procrastinate for long. It helped me today to think that every pot of filler I mix and apply brings me closer to that exciting stage but I have a ways to go yet.
I’m planning a big push tomorrow so that I can get the starboard hull finished as well which means I can move back to the sander again. I’m keen to see what standard of finish I can achieve with this second sand.
I will probably go with the light blue. Pahi’s are yellow (bananas). Tiki 30’s are red. Seems like 38’s are nice in blue.
Thanks Chuck. Definitely not going with Pahi Banana and blue does look nice but as always I’m looking to be different! I’ve dug my paint box out so I’ll let you know 🙂
Consider two colors. Decks a slightly contrasting color. I like the distinctive colors of “Pumpkin” and “Razzle Dazzle” also. I can’t pick colors…..I go crazy: pink, no, burnt orange, no, zebra stripes, no, aaargh!
