1994Hrs – Glass Reinforcing Completed!
It was back in March and some 129 hours of work ago that I estimated that I had some 223metres (732ft) of joint reinforcement to complete. Today I finally got them all finished. OK not all of the 129 hours was spent on this but I estimate at least 100 hours of it was so however you look at it that’s a big job crossed off the list.
As is always the way with a project like this though once one big job is completed another comes into focus and now it’s the sheathing. I don’t plan to estimate how long that’s going to take I’m just going to dive right in and get started.
Today I also cut the hole for the portside window over the galley area. That’s all the hull openings cut except for the plexiglass ones in the forward facing sections of the cabin tops. Because I’ve curved these sections for a better appearance rather than build them flat as per the plans this could be a bit of a challenge as I’ll need to bend some thick plexiglass if I’m to get a one piece window. I may just opt for a couple of round ones instead but I’ll leave that decision for later
