1144Hrs – Ready For The Off
I put in an extra hour tonight and managed to get the final two stern panels dry fitted to the port hull. Now, when I get back from Scotland on Monday I can start taking them all off again! My plan is to work through them systematically, marking the stringer positions, removing each panel, pre-drilling fixing holes, planing and preparing as necessary to get a nice fit. Then glueing each one back into position. I’m anticipating having to do the bow and stern panels in pairs using the ratchet straps to pull everything together. There are some serious stresses introduced with the bends in these sheets and I have already popped a couple stringer/bulkhead joints screwing them in place. Hopefully though the fact that they are cut to shape and will, in effect, have been pre-bent will make the job a little easier, we’ll see.
