1129Hrs – Starboard Hull Sides Done
Here’s a sequence showing my technique for the hull sides. 1) Get the ply sheet roughly at the right height supported on the saw horses and blocks then clamp along the top 2) Mark the overlap 3) take the sheet away and cut to the line to get a nice join to the adjacent sheet 4) Clamp back into position butted up nicely along the join then mark the bow cut 5) Drop the sheet off and cut to size 6) Offer the sheet back up and screw into position 7) Mark the position of the bottom of the stringer 8) Cut the excess away with the Exact saw.
That’s it! One sheet dry fitted and ready for the next stage. I now have all the starboard upper hull side panels cut and dry fitted. I’m pleased with that as I hadn’t really expected to start on them until after my holiday. I gave the barn a good clean up today (assisted by my girlfriend …. thanks babe!) So now I can head off to the sun with a clear conscience and come back ready to crack on. See you all in a couple of weeks!
