1007Hrs – The Day Before Tomorrow
Thanks to all who posted or e-mailed me congratulations on the 1000 hour mark, much appreciated.
A good work session today allowed me to get the bulkheads and stringers in both stern sections squared and glued and to get the sternpost buttstraps fixed. Everything went reasonably well except that after gluing up everything in the starboard section I thought something looked a little out of square with the small No7 bulkhead. I check measured and sure enough it was some 50mm (2 inches) out of square on one side. I had put some screws in to mark his bulkhead position a few weeks ago and hadn’t bothered re-checking. Anyway I had enough time to move it before the epoxy had gone off too much so no damage done. I shouldn’t need reminding but obviously I do …….. check and re-check measurements!
I am especially pleased with my work today as my mind hasn’t fully been on the job. As I’ve indicated there are events brewing that will give me some serious challenges to overcome, tomorrow is the day when this chain of events will begin. Wish me luck!
